Create a File Using the New Project Wizard

Use this procedure to create a project using the New Project Wizard.

To create a project using the New Project Wizard:

  1. In Open Plan Explorer, take one of the following actions:
    • On the File menu, click New.
    • Press CTRL+N.
    • On the Quick Access Toolbar, click the New button and then click Project.
  2. In the New File dialog box, select the appropriate file type (project, calendar, resource, or code) from the File Type field.
  3. Enter a name and description for the new file and then click Next.
  4. Use the pages of the New File Wizard to create a project or ancillary file.
Attention: For more information, see New File Wizard.
Open Plan creates the file with the information you entered.

If you have created a project, Open Plan places it in the Projects folder and creates a link to the project in your My Folder. If you have created a calendar, resource, or code file, Open Plan places it within the appropriate folder in the Open Plan Library.

When you have finished creating the project, you can display the Project Properties dialog box to review your settings and make any necessary changes.
