Notes Tab

Use the Notes tab to create, edit, or delete a note attached to the code.

When you add a note and click Apply, the note is saved with the code, and a triangle symbol is added to the code in all resource file views.

Use the fields and options to configure the Notes tab of the Code Details dialog box.

Field Description
Code

A code is an alphanumeric identifier unique to the code and can consist of from 1 to 20 characters, including periods that are used to indicate hierarchical levels. At each hierarchical level, this identifier can consist of a maximum of 10 characters. However, the total length of the code, including periods, cannot exceed 59 characters.

Codes containing the following four symbols " , | ; are used as delimiters in Open Plan and may cause problems when importing or exporting data.

When you enter a code in the Code Details dialog box, enter only the local portion of the code. Open Plan automatically enters the parent portion of the code.

Open Plan does not distinguish between upper- and lower-case characters in a code and will flag code "WBS01" as a duplicate of code "wbs01."

Description

An extended description of up to 60 characters can be stored for each code.

Although you can attach multiple notes to a resource, you can attach only one note per category.
