Create an Explanatory Text Caption

Use this procedure to create an explanatory text caption.

To create an explanatory text caption:

  1. In the Project Views folder of Open Plan Explorer, select the view you want to customize.
  2. Take any of the following actions:
    • Display the Conditional Formatting dialog box.
    • Display the Bar Sets Preferences dialog box.
  3. Depending on the view, perform any of the following:
    For spreadsheet views (in the Conditional Formatting dialog box):
    1. Select a row for which you want to create the text caption.
    2. Enter the explanatory text in the Show This Explanation column corresponding to the selected row.
    3. Click the Display Explanation When Hovering over Applied Rule(s) option to show the explanatory text you created.

    In barchart views for the spreadsheet pane (in the Conditional Formatting dialog box):

    1. Select a row for which you want to create the text caption.
    2. Enter the explanatory text in the Show This Explanation column corresponding to the selected row
    3. Click the Display Explanation When Hovering over Applied Rule(s) option to show the explanatory text you created.

    In barchart views for the barchart pane (in the Bar Set Preferences dialog box):

    1. Select a row for which you want to create the text caption.
    2. Enter the explanatory text in the Show This Explanation column corresponding to the selected row.
    3. Click the Display Explanation When Hovering over Applied Rule(s) option to show the explanatory text you created.

    For the network view (in the Conditional Formatting dialog box):

    1. Enter the explanatory text in the Show This Explanation column corresponding to the selected row.
    2. Click the Display Explanation When Hovering over Applied Rule(s) option to show the explanatory text you created.
