This field controls the Date field of the activity table that Open Plan should use when creating the time scale in the network view. |

These fields work together to control the frequency with which date labels appear on the date scale. The first field contains a value that modifies the selected time unit in the second field. For example:

| Date Format |
You can specify the appearance of the dates in the date scale by entering a format for the date. Attention: For the list of parameters that can be included, see

Two methods are available for building a format expression:
It is also possible to build a format expression using a combination of the two methods. The actual date displayed on the date scale is displayed in the format you choose. Because relative dates return only a numeric value, they are usually combined with literal values to make them more informative. Attention: For more information about date formats, see

| Reference Date |
Open Plan calculates relative dates based on the date entered in the Reference Date field. The default for the Reference Date is the project start date. You can combine absolute dates (for example, Oct 20) with relative dates (for example, Week 1) on a date scale. Open Plan displays relative dates occurring before the reference date as negative values. |
