Field Description
[List Box]

The top list box displays the names of the files in the backup set. Although you can select the items that you want to restore individually, you can simplify this task by using the settings in the Include Dependencies section of this dialog box.

Include Dependencies

Select any of the following options, which control the categories of items in the hierarchy that Open Plan should select for the restore operation:

  • Views: This option instructs Open Plan to select all the views that are associated with any item that will be restored.
  • Ancillary data: This option instructs Open Plan to select the Calendar, Resource, and Code items that are associated with the items to be restored.
  • External Subprojects: This option instructs Open Plan to select external subprojects that are associated with the project to be restored.
  • System Library Data: This option instructs Open Plan to select the system library data (such as global edits, filters, sorts, and calculated fields) that is associated with the project to be restored. By default, this option is not selected. Open Plan handles the restoring of system library data as follows:
    • If the system library data does not exist in the target data source (for example, it has been deleted), the data will automatically be restored.
    • If the data already exists in the target data source, it will be listed on the Details page of the Restore Wizard. This gives you the option to overwrite the existing data on a one-to-one basis. For example, if you have modified filters in the target data source, you may not want to overwrite them during the restore process.
Note: You can clear any specific items that you do not want to restore.
Files that cannot be restored due to your Access Rights

This list box displays the file you are trying to restore to which you do not have access control rights.

For example, assume that a backup file set contains three files: two projects and a resource file that is not associated with either project. Also assume that you have access rights to only one project and not to the other project or resource file. The file you have access rights to will display in the top list box, and the two files you do not have rights to will display in the bottom list box.

Next

Click this button to display the Details page of the wizard.

Files in the Files that cannot be restored due to your Access Rights list do not display on the Details page of the wizard.

Finish

Click this button when you are finished. Open Plan checks for any differences between the backup set and the files that will be modified by the restore operation:

  • If no differences are found, Open Plan restores the data.
  • If any differences are found, Open Plan displays additional dialog boxes where you can instruct Open Plan how to proceed.
Open Plan displays the Restore Target Exists dialog box when differences are found between the backup set and the files in the data source. Differences between the backup set and files in the data source are expected to occur. This dialog box gives you overwrite options that you can use to rectify the problem.
