Use the fields and options to configure the Options dialog box General tab.

Field	Description
StartUp Clip Notes	If this option is selected, Open Plan displays help information when you open an empty view. For example, if you display a Risk Histogram view and no resources are displayed, Open Plan can display a Procedure that tells you how to display resources on the histogram view. After you are familiar with Open Plan, you may want to disable this feature by clearing this option.
Opening Splash Screen	If this option is selected, Open Plan displays a splash screen when you start the application.
Startup Tips	If this option is selected, Open Plan displays a Tip of the Day each time that you start Open Plan. If this option is not selected, the Tip of the Day is not displayed when you start Open Plan. You can also disable Startup Tips by clearing the Show Tips on Startup option on the Tip of the Day message box.
Status Bar	If this option is selected, the Status Bar is displayed at the bottom of the Open Plan screen.
Open Last File on Startup	If this option is selected, Open Plan automatically opens the last file accessed in the previous session when starting.
Default Times	The Default Times options enable you to set the Start and Stop times for data entry of dates and finish dates. If data in a date field is entered without a time, the default Start time will automatically be used. If data in a finish date field is entered without a time, the default Stop time will automatically be used. The default start and stop times must be entered based on a 24-hour clock. For example, for an 8-hour day that begins at 8:00 AM, you would enter: Start: 8:00 Stop: 16:00 The default times also affect how dates are displayed in dialog boxes when the dates have a time that differs from the default. If a date or finish date field contains a time that differs from the Default Times options, the time will be displayed in dialog boxes that contain the field regardless of the current date format. You can override this setting in the New File Wizard.
Week Starts On	The selection you make from this list controls the day of the week that Open Plan uses as the starting day of each workweek.
Language	This option displays the currently selected language for your installation of Open Plan. A list displays the other languages into which Open Plan has been translated and from which you can select. This Help system has not been translated into all the available languages. Therefore, selecting a language from the Language field does not necessarily mean that the Help system will display in that language.
Default Open Mode	The selection you make from this list sets the default access mode (Exclusive, Shared, or Read-Only) for new projects and ancillary files. You can override this setting in the New File Wizard.
Symbols Button	The Symbols button displays a dialog box that you can use to define a custom symbol. After a symbol is defined, it is added to the symbol choices that are available in many Open Plan views.
Edit Briefcase Button	The Edit Briefcase button provides access to the Edit Data Source dialog box that you can use to specify the data source to be used as your Briefcasing data source.
