| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| ID |
This field displays the unique code identifying each activity in a project. |
| Total Float |
This field displays the maximum number of work periods by which an activity can be delayed without delaying project completion or violating a target finish date. |
| Free Float |
This field displays the maximum amount by which an activity can be delayed beyond its early dates without delaying any successor activity beyond its early dates. In the absence of finish targets, free float is always less than or equal to total float. |
| Scheduled Duration |
The scheduled duration of an activity is calculated by resource scheduling and takes into account such advanced activity management techniques as activity splitting, stretching, or reprofiling. |
| Description |
This field displays the description of the activity. |
| Original Duration |
This field displays the duration originally entered for this activity. |
| Earliest Feasible Date |
This field displays the earliest date on which the activity could be scheduled to start based on the scheduled dates of all its predecessors but in the absence of any resource constraints on the activity itself. This date is calculated by resource scheduling. |

Grid
The table below provides information about the columns in the grid.
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Skill ID | This column displays the ID for the skill assigned to the resource. |
| Requested | This column displays the ID of the currently requested resource for the activity.
If you hover your mouse cursor over the ID, Open Plan displays the description of the resource as a tool tip. If this is the first time you are performing resource allocation on the activity, the requested resource is the resource originally requested. If you have previously performed resource allocation on the activity, the requested resource may be a suggested resource that you accepted at that time. (It is very possible for a requested resource to have originally been identified as an alternate resource.) |
| Level | This column displays the original resource requirement for the requested resource. This numeric value is interpreted by Open Plan as either a quantity per activity time unit or as a total requirement, depending on the Curve setting on resource assignment in the Activity Details dialog box. |
| Alternate | This column displays the ID of the resource currently defined as the alternate resource for the activity.
If you hover your mouse cursor over the ID, Open Plan displays the description of the resource as a tool tip. If this is the first time you are performing resource allocation on the activity, the alternate resource is the resource originally identified as an acceptable alternate if the requested resource is unavailable. If you have previously performed resource allocation on the activity, the alternate resource may be so identified as a result of your action at that time. (It is very possible for an alternate resource to have originally been identified as a requested resource.) |
| Suggested | This column displays the resource chosen by Open Plan in order to schedule the activity. |
| Used | This column displays the quantity of the suggested resource used to schedule the activity. This numeric value is interpreted by Open Plan as either a quantity per activity time unit or as a total requirement, depending on the Curve setting on resource assignment in the Activity Details dialog box. |
Buttons
Two buttons, located at the right edge of the lower portion of the dialog box, apply to the resource allocation items you select. You can select as many resource allocation items at one time as you wish and accept or lock them at one time.
| Button | Description |
|---|---|
| Accept | You can accept the resource suggested by Open Plan.
If Open Plan suggests the alternate resource, clicking Accept has the effect of exchanging the requested resource and the suggested resource. The suggested resource replaces the requested resource, and the originally requested resource becomes the alternate resource. Unless you choose to lock the requested resource, Open Plan may suggest either the requested resource or the alternate resource the next time you perform resource scheduling. |
| Lock | You can lock the requested resource.
Locking a resource has the effect of deleting the alternative resource for the activity. If you lock the requested resource, Open Plan no longer may attempt to schedule the alternate resource for the activity. |
