| Table Name |
This field is enabled for spreadsheets and specifies the table on which the field to be displayed is located. |
| Field Name |
The Field Name specifies the fields to be displayed. This field can be either one of the standard Open Plan fields or a calculated field that has been added to a file. In addition, you can type a calculated field that you create "on-the-fly" in this field. You can easily search for and select a field name using the Available Matching Columns dialog box or by navigating through matching values with arrow keys. Entering character(s) in the Field Name field and pressing Tab or navigating to a different area within the dialog box using the mouse displays another dialog box called Available Matching Columns. If Open Plan finds multiple matches, the dialog box displays a list of options to select from. If it finds only one match, the Field Name field populates automatically, and the dialog box does not display. If Open Plan does not find any matches, an error message displays. Entering character(s) and pressing the Up/Down arrow key navigates to the closest matching value without opening the Available Matching Columns dialog box. |
| Title |
The Title field displays the text used to identify the field. While you can enter any text you wish in this field, the default provided by Open Plan is the field name that is stored in the data dictionary. |

| Color |
This option allows you to override the default color for the text with a specific color that has been predefined for the application. |
| Formatting |
The Formatting options control how date, duration, or numeric data in the column is displayed. If you change the formatting of a column that already contains data, Open Plan displays the data in the new format. The available formatting options depend on the Field Name field:
Where appropriate, you can use the Decimals field to indicate a level of precision for the display of data. The formatting of currency has ramifications for the international user. While the spreadsheet stores the currency symbol as well as its position (before or after the numeric value), it does not control other aspects of how currency is formatted. Some aspects of currency formatting, such as the symbols used for the thousands separator and decimal, depend on your installation of Windows. For example, if a user in the United States formats the value 1000 as $1,000.00, the French user will see it displayed as $1 000,00. Both the $ symbol and its position before the numeric value are retained. Open Plan does, however, allow Windows to replace the U.S. decimal character (.) with the French decimal character (,), and the U.S. thousands separator (,) with the French equivalent (a space). Because Open Plan uses the decimal settings for your installation of Windows, the Decimal field is disabled for currency. |
| Decimals |
Where appropriate, you can use the Decimals field to indicate a level of precision for the display of data. Because Open Plan uses the decimal settings for your installation of Windows, the Decimal field is disabled for currency. |
| Add Column |
The Add Column command places the new column to the right of the selected column. |
