Use this screen to establish part preference types that indicate the acceptability of a given alternate part number. Set up this screen up during initialization and maintain it whenever you establish or modify part preference types.
Enter a part preference code. You can assign this part preference type to an alternate part number to indicate its level of acceptability. You can use this code on the Manage Alternate Parts screen to indicate the alternate parts preference.
Enter a part preference type description. For example, you could assign the description "Not to be used in new design" to the code letter N or "Only to be used in new designs" to code letter O.
