Types of Project Budgets Available for Each Project

There are two types of project budgets available for each project: a baseline budget and a workplan budget.

  • Baseline Budget: A baseline budget is typically the contract budget or initial budget used as a project-benchmarking tool. You can compare the baseline budget, workplan budget, and actual project expenses side-by-side using the reporting tools in Costpoint Advanced Project Budgeting.
  • Workplan Budget: The workplan budget is typically used to develop project budget scenarios. You can create multiple Workplan Budgets if you selected the Allow Workplan Budgets check box on the Configure Project Budget Settings screen.
