Use this screen to assign one or more projects to this part, and to enter material planning and Quality Control (QC) information specific to that part/project.
Use this screen after initializing the Manage Parts screen for a part. Return to this screen when you need to make modifications or additions to part/project data.
You must first establish the project on the Basic Info tab of the Manage Project User Flow screen before you can enter any additional information on this screen.
Enter, or click to select, the part ID to assign to the project you will enter in the Project field.
You assign part IDs on the Manage Parts screen.
Enter, or click to select, the revision number of the part.
You assign part revision numbers on the Manage Parts screen.
If you are using revisions, the last revision assigned to the part automatically displays, but can be modified.
This field displays the text description associated with the item you entered in the Part field. Click to view the whole description, if necessary.
You assign part descriptions on the Manage Parts screen.
This field displays the unit of measure assigned to this part on the Manage Parts screen.
The make/buy status assigned to this part on the Planning Details subtask of the Manage Parts screen, or the Characteristics tab if planning part data does not exist, displays as M (Make) or B (Buy).
This field is visible only if the Use Part Data Security Controls check box is selected on the Configure Product Definition Settings screen, which indicates that the part is subject to data security restrictions, as defined in the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
If enabled, this field displays one of the following values to indicate whether the part you are accessing is subject to part data security restrictions and whether you have the necessary authorization to access information for that part:
Unrestricted — The part is not subject to data security restrictions.
Restricted — The part is subject to data security restrictions and that you are authorized to access detailed part information.
***UNAUTHORIZED*** — The part is subject to data security restrictions and you are not authorized to access or view part information. This value is displayed in red background color.
Enter, or use to select, the project ID for this part. The project must already have been entered on the Manage Project User Flow screen in Project Setup and have a status of Active.
Select Yes from the drop-down list to indicate that QC acceptance/inspection is required for this part/project. Yes displays if the QC Inspection Required check box was selected in the Quality group box on the Characteristics tab of the Manage Parts screen, but it can be modified. This value defaults to all purchase order lines for this part and, again, can be modified there.
Select Yes from the drop-down list if source inspection is required for this part/project. A government source inspection normally requires the vendor to obtain approval from a government inspector before the material can be shipped. Yes displays if the Source Inspection Required check box was selected in the Quality group box on the Characteristics tab of the Manage Parts screen, but it can be modified. This value defaults to all purchase order lines for this part and, again, can be modified there.
Select Yes from the drop-down list to indicate that the vendor must submit a certificate of conformance when this part is ordered for the specified project. A certificate of conformance is a legal document that certifies that the materials conform to certain specifications and requirements, and the vendor issues it. Yes displays if the Certificate of Conformance Required check box was selected in the Quality group box on the Characteristics tab of the Manage Parts screen, but it can be modified.
Select check box to indicate that substitutes are allowed for the part/project combination. Otherwise, clear the check box.
Enter the quantity required to be in inventory for this part. This is used by the future material management process to determine when an item needs to be ordered or replenished.
Enter the target inventory quantity desired for this part. This quantity can be used in addition to the reorder point to sustain an inventory level for this part for planning purposes.
Enter the safety stock quantity for this part. This quantity is used to help generate reorder information for materials planning and is added to other requirements to determine how much inventory is required.
Select Yes from the drop-down list to track lot numbers for this part when it is used with this project. Yes displays if the Lot check box was selected in the Inventory Tracking Required group box on the Serial Lot Information tab of the Manage Parts screen, but it can be modified.
Select Yes from the drop-down list to track serial numbers for this part when it is used with this project. Yes displays if the Serial check box was selected in the Inventory Tracking Required group box on the Serial Lot Information tab of the Manage Parts screen, but it can be modified.
Enter, or use to select, the preferred warehouse where this part is received. The warehouse must already have been established on the Manage Warehouse screen in Inventory. If a warehouse/location ID is assigned to the specified part in the Planning Details subtask of the Manage Parts screen, it displays here.
If a preferred location has previously been assigned to the warehouse entered in the Preferred Warehouse field, it automatically displays here, or you can select a different preferred location where this part is received. If a warehouse/location ID is assigned to the specified part in the Planning Details subtask of the Manage Parts screen, it displays here.
Enter the Military Standard Requisition and Issue Procedure (MILSTRIP) ID for the part. This field is optional. You can print the MILSTRIP ID on the sales order acknowledgment, packing slips, invoices, and DD250 forms.
This field displays the order policy assigned to this part on the Planning Details subtask of the Manage Parts screen. One of the following system-defined selections displays:
Min/Mult Lot Size — Requires that a lot size be specified for meeting net requirements.
Order to Point — The inventory Reorder Process automatically places a purchase requisition for this part whenever the inventory quantity is less than or equal to the reorder point.
Period — Requires that the lot size equal net requirements for the specified number of shop calendar days.
Reorder Point — The inventory reorder process automatically places a purchase requisition for this part whenever the quantity on hand is reduced to or below a specified level (reorder point level).
Discrete Lot Size — Requires that the planned order quantity always equal the quantity of the net requirements.
