Use the wInsight Data Dictionary

The wInsight Analytics data dictionary lists and describes the tables and fields included in the standard data model for wInsight Analytics. It is an important resource for those who extend or modify wInsight Analytics to meet particular business requirements.

To use the data dictionary, complete the following steps:

1. On the server or standalone computer on which you installed wInsight Analytics, go to the <installation location>/Admin folder.
2. Open the wInsight_Data_Dictionary.qvw file.
3. Use the Table Name, Field Name, and Field Type lists to filter the lists of field descriptions that display in the main section of the tab.

   To search for a table name or a field name in the lists, click in the search field...

   

   ...and enter one or more characters from the name. If the search returns the table or field names you want, select them in the results list. (You can use the SHIFT key or CTRL key to select multiple items.)

   Note: The descriptions that display in the data dictionary come from the English Name and Long Descriptions columns in the data model. The data dictionary does not show all data model columns.
