Indented Sort View Table
The Indented Sort View table on the Master Dashboard tab displays the schedule variance (SV), cost variance (CV), and variance at completion (VAC), by element, at all levels of the structure you select.
Table Format
The Indented Sort View table is a straight (non-pivot) table.
This table is designed to provide a stable point of origin for your analysis. As a result, unlike most tables and charts, it does not respond to most filters that you select on the Master Dashboard. For example, if you use CAM under Additional Filters to look at elements associated with a specific control account manager (CAM), all other tables and charts are filtered based on that CAM, but this table remains unfiltered to provide a complete picture of the contract variances.
In addition, to preserve the hierarchical presentation of the structure in the first column, this table does not allow you to change the sort order.
While it does not respond to most filters, this table does change based on your selections in the following:
- Contracts
- Period
- Cumulative or Current
- Amount or Percent
- Data Options
Table Data
The Indented Sort View table displays variance values for the selected contract for all elements at all levels in the structure hierarchy as of the period selected in Period. In addition, it displays performance and trend indicator columns for each variance type.
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Structure elements | This column displays all elements in the selected structure (the WBS, for example) in a hierarchical format. To focus your analysis, you can select one or any set of elements. To select a set of elements that are listed together, click and drag to make the selection. To select multiple elements that are not all listed together, click
at the right end of the column heading to display a list of the elements, and press the
CTRL key as you click each element. You can also select multiple elements in the
Unindented Elements list on the left side of the dashboard, and you can use that list to search for specific elements.
Whether or not indirect costs and management reserve are displayed in the grid is based on your selection in Exclude Indirect under Data Options. If you include them, they display at the end of the structure hierarchy. |
| SV, CV, VAC (colored cells) | These performance indicator columns display color-coded performance and trend information based on the selected period for schedule variance, cost variance, and variance at completion, respectively.
The colors and arrows are determined by the change threshold settings that your wInsight system administrator establishes for each contract in wInsight. The colors indicate cumulative or current performance based on the thresholds, and the arrows indicate if that performance represents a significant positive or negative trend, compared to the prior period. A legend at the bottom of the tab displays the thresholds. |
| SV | This column displays the cumulative or current schedule variance amount or schedule variance percentage for each element.
To filter for specific values, click

| CV | This column displays the cumulative or current cost variance amount or cost variance percentage for each element.
To filter for specific values, click

| VAC | This column displays either the variance at completion amount or variance at completion percentage for each element.
To filter for specific values, click
