  6. To include a longer, more descriptive name for the project, enter it in Long Name.
  7. Select Regular, Overhead, or Promotional from the Charge Type drop-down list.
  8. Click the Continue button.
    • If you select a template that does not have phases or tasks, Deltek completes this work flow, creating the project and displaying the project in Edit All mode, where you can adjust the copied data on each of the project tabs.
    • If you select a template that has phases or tasks, Deltek displays the Choose Project Structure form. Continue with the next step.
  9. In the Choose Project Structure form, by default the check boxes for all phases and tasks are selected. Deselect the check boxes for the phases and tasks you do not want to copy from the existing project to the new project. Deselecting a phase deselects that phase's associated tasks.
  10. Click the Continue button. Deltek displays the Edit Project Structure form.
  11. In the Edit Project Structure form:
    1. You can change the default values for any of the phases and tasks. For example, you might want to change the status from Dormant to Active.
    1. You can also make changes to the project structure. To copy, delete, or add a new WBS element under a row, hover over the row, click , and select the option from the drop-down list.
    1. Click the Save button.
Deltek creates the project and displays the Overview tab in Presentation view.

If you are going to use theDeltek desktop application, note thatDeltek does not copy the Approved for use in processing setting from the project in the browser to the project in the Deltek desktop application. This is because you need to finish setting up the accounting data in the Deltek desktop application before you can charge time and expenses to the project.
