Dashpart Types (Browser)
Your security role determines not only your record access but also the types of dashparts that are displayed on your Dashboard.
For system dashparts, keep in mind that Deltek "remembers" your latest search and applies it by default the next time that you display the chart. Deltek does not "remember" the selections you make in table dashparts from one session to the next.
Additionally, in the desktop application, click
on the toolbar at the top of the main
Deltek screen to open a different version of the dashboard in which other system dashparts are available. The desktop application allows users to set up their own dashboards and dashparts. When you add a system dashpart, you select one of the following dashpart types on the Add System Dashpart dialog box.
| Dashpart Type | Description |
|---|---|
| Upcoming Milestones | Upcoming Milestones is a graphical timeline of upcoming and historical milestones for any
opportunity to which you have access. This dashpart displays up to 7 upcoming milestones beginning with today's or your most current milestone. Use the paging control arrows to view past or future milestones across the timeline.
If the selected opportunities have no upcoming milestones (meaning for today or in the future), then the last 7 milestones are displayed instead. Use the Upcoming Milestones drop-down to filter the milestones that appear on the timeline. You can select a standard filter (All, Active, or Mine, ), an existing custom filter, or click Custom to create a new custom filter that is immediately applied. You can also save a new custom search filter if desired. You can view details about each milestone. On the timeline, click a milestone point to display an info bubble that contains the names of both the milestone and its associated opportunity, the milestone's date due, and notes about the milestone. If there are multiple milestones for a specific date, these are listed on the info bubble. Click More... to display a separate browser tab where you can view additional notes and details about the opportunity and milestone. This dashpart also appears on the Overview tab of the Opportunities Hub but with no search capability. |
| Opportunities | The
Opportunities dashpart lists all the
opportunities to which you have access. Use the scroll bar to view
opportunities in the list that appear in ascending alphabetical order.
Use the Opportunities drop-down to filter the opportunites that are most relevant to you. You can select All, Active, or Mine, , or an existing search to expand or limit the opportunities in the list You can also select Custom to display the Custom Search dialog box from which you can create a new custom search. |
| My Activities | The My Activities dashpart is a grid of your day's events. The events may be meetings, reminders, deadlines, alerts, and so on. This dashpart contains dynamic content and updates accordingly. For example, if an appointment is rescheduled, the information changes in the dashpart.
Use your activity calendar or the Activities Hub to review, add, and modify your activities. You can view your calendar by day, week, or month. You can also update your calendar from the Dashboard. |
| Pipeline | The Pipeline dashpart is represented as a chart that provides a summary view of revenue for the
opportunities in your pipeline. For each dimension value on the vertical axis, the chart displays estimated and weighted revenue amounts in separate bars.
To determine each opportunity's contribution to pipeline revenue, Deltek spreads the revenue amount for each opportunity evenly across the period from that opportunity's start date to its end date to determine per-day revenue. It then uses the opportunity start and end dates to determine the number of days each opportunity will contribute revenue during the Pipeline chart time frame, and multiplies that number of days by the per-day revenue amounts to determine that opportunity's contribution to the revenue shown in the chart. In order to be included in the pipeline, the opportunity must have the following populated: Revenue and Estimated Start and Estimated Completion Dates in the Milestones grid on the Activities tab. Use searches to select the opportunities that are included, and you can specify the vertical axis dimension and the time frame. |
| Hubs |
You can view predefined dashparts that link to the Hubs that you use most frequently. You can also populate the dashparts with the Hub records that you use most frequently. You can see only those records to which your security role has access rights. For example, you can view project information via the project dashparts available on the Dashboard tab in Project View. |
| Upcoming Generic Assignments | The Upcoming Generic Assignments dashboard displays alert messages for managers about upcoming generic assignments that need to be assigned to specific resources. The Resource Planning application is required in order for you to access this dashpart. |
| Favorite Report Dashpart | The Favorite Report Dashpart allows you to view a list of your favorite reports. You can select the Preview icon an active row to preview the report in a separate browser tab. |
