OBS Consolidated WBS Matrix Table

The OBS Consolidated WBS Matrix table on the WBS OBS View tab provides a cross tab view that displays the contribution of each WBS element to the selected variance for each consolidated organization or OBS element. This table displays the same data as the WBS Consolidated Organization Matrix, but with rows for the consolidated organizations and OBS elements and columns for WBS elements, rather than the reverse.

You can use this table to analyze WBS/OBS relationships for more than one contract at a time. However, if two contracts have very different OBS structures and those differences are not reconciled by mapping the structures to a common set of organizations during the implementation of these analytics, the OBS columns for one contract will not apply to the other. In that situation, reviewing data for one contract at a time is often the best approach.

Be aware also that if not all elements have been mapped, the values in the WBS OBS View analytics may not agree with values on other tabs in wInsight Analytics - Multi-Project.

Table Format

The OBS Consolidated WBS Matrix table is a pivot table, with a column for each WBS element and a row for each consolidated organization or OBS element. In pivot tables, you cannot change the order of data in the table as you can with most other tables in wInsight Analytics.

Table Data

Right-click in the column heading row to select the WBS level for which you want to display data. You can display variances for the WBS elements that are mapped to the OBS (the lowest level) or at any higher WBS levels that are loaded into the wInsight Analytics - Multi-Project data model.

Click to drill down to variances for lower consolidated organization levels. You can display variances for the OBS elements that are mapped to the WBS (the lowest level) or for elements at either of the two hierarchy levels that your system administrator set up when implementing these analytics. Click to collapse the lower levels and only view variances at higher levels.

The WBS Consolidated Organization Matrix table displays the following for the selected period:

Data Item	Description
WBS/OBS variances	Each table cell displays the cumulative or current SV, cumulative or current CV, or VAC amount that is associated with each combination of WBS element and consolidated organization or OBS element. Use the SV, CV, and VAC options above the WBS Consolidated Organization Matrix table to select the type of variances you want to display.
Unmapped variances	If you select a contract for analysis for which some or all of the WBS has not been mapped to the OBS, the variance amounts for the unmapped elements all display in the No Mapping row.
