CPI vs. TCPI EAC Chart

The CPI vs. TCPI EAC chart on the EAC Realism tab compares, over time, the cumulative or current cost performance index (CPI) and the to-complete performance index (TCPI to EAC). CPI indicates actual cost efficiency to date, and TCPI to EAC indicates the efficiency required in the future to meet the estimate to complete.

Chart Format

By default, the CPI vs. TCPI EAC chart is a line chart, with a separate line for each variance. Use the Fast Change icon () to switch to a pivot table that displays the actual values for the data points and enables you to drill down to the period-by-period variances for each element.

Chart Item Description
Horizontal axis The horizontal axis displays the range of periods.
Vertical axis The vertical axis displays the range of index values.
Lines Each line represents the change in value for one of the indexes over the range of periods.

Each data point on the line represents the index value for that period.

CPI vs. TCPI EAC Chart Data

You can display the CPI values for each period based either on cumulative or current data.

Data Item Description
CPI Cost performance index value for each period.
TCPI to EAC To-complete performance index for each period: (BAC – BCWPcum) / (LRE – ACWPcum).
