CV vs. VAC Chart

The relationship of the cumulative cost variance and the variance at completion is an important indicator of EAC realism. The CV vs. VAC chart on the EAC Realism tab tracks both variances over time in a line chart.

Chart Format

By default, the CV vs. VAC chart is a line chart, with a separate line for each variance. Use the Fast Change icon () to switch to a pivot table that displays the actual values for the data points and enables you to drill down to the period-by-period variances for each element.

Chart Item Description
Horizontal axis The horizontal axis displays the range of periods.
Vertical axis The vertical axis displays the range of variance amounts.
Lines Each line represents the change in value for one of the variances over the range of periods.

Each data point on the line represents the cumulative or current variance amount for that period.

Chart Data

You can display either cumulative or current variance amounts for each period.

Data Item Description
CV Cumulative or current cost variance amount for each period.
VAC Variance at completion amount for each period.
