The P6 Integration Queue

The P6 Integration queue is a dedicated queue that processes the P6 integration jobs. It is automatically added to the PM Compass Process Server’s list of Default Process Queues during a full or upgrade installation.

Why Use a Dedicated Queue?

When you have a dedicated queue, it is easier to view the queue and see if any of the processes fail. It is easy to have the processes run on a different server and it allows you to specify how many processes run at once. For the P6 Integration queue, the number of concurrent processes is set to 5 by default and that is the recommended maximum. If you experience connectivity issues with P6 integration processes, you may want to reduce this to a lower number.

The servers that pick up the P6 Integration queue jobs must be able to connect to the P6 server's URL for web services, which is: http://<servername>:8206/p6ws. See the Integrating with Primavera P6 appendix in the Deltek PM Compass Installation Guide for prerequisite and configuration information.

How jobs are assigned to the P6 Integration Queue

You assign jobs to the P6 Integration Queue in one of two ways:

What Happens if the Queue is Not Listed in EPM SA?

If the P6 Integration queue is not listed on the Web/Application server, the process will default to the System queue.
