Microsoft Project Professional supports master projects linked to other projects; however, when loaded into PM Compass, a single activity with a fixed start date is created representing the subproject. You cannot expand the subproject in PM Compass.
You can use the Subproject File field in MSP to see if any subprojects exist in your MSP file.
PM Compass does not support master projects with Project Server.
