This section describes the difference between a workflow due date and an assignment due date.
As the user who creates the workflow, you manually enter the due date on the workflow form.
PM Compass calculates the assignment due date using the days allotted for each step in the workflow. The system uses the Assignment due date to ensure that all of the workflow steps are completed before the due date.
A due date (for both assignment and workflow) is past due when today’s date is one day ago. For example, when the due date was yesterday.
PM Compass sends past due notifications only once, but it continues to send reminder notifications until the workflow or assignment is closed. For an example of how PM Compass calculates assignment due dates, see the Workflow Example.
