Child Workflows Tab of the Explanation of Variance Form

This tab displays the list of Corrective Actions that are child workflows for the current Explanation of Variance parent. Use the options on this tab to create new Corrective Actions, copy existing Corrective Actions, or delete Corrective Actions from the list. Creating Corrective Actions is an easy way to track and help ensure that everything explained in the corrective action narrative is performed. The child Corrective Actions are assigned to an individual so you can see who should be doing the action.

Grid

This grid displays all of the child workflows for the selected parent. This is also where you can associate (remove) child workflows with their parent or disassociate them from a parent.

The columns in the grid are read-only, except for the Workflow Title column. You can click the title to display the child workflow details.

You cannot select multiple workflows to edit, copy, or delete.

Associate

Click this button to create an association between the current parent record and a child workflow. You can use this button when you created a child workflow independently or when you disassociated it from a different parent.

To complete the association, you must save the parent.

When you click the Association button, PM Compass displays the Workflow Search dialog box where you can select one or more child workflows to associate with the parent. This dialog box displays the workflows that meet all of the following criteria:

  • Have a relationship setting of Workflow can be a child

  • You have permission to access the workflow

  • Not a child of another parent

  • Not already associated with the current parent

  • Are active

The dialog box displays workflows that meet these criteria even if they are already suspended or closed.
