Forecast Time Phased Data Validation Checks (Enter Cost Progress)

When you click the Edit button on the Time Phased grid of the Enter Cost Progress form Resource tab, and before you can edit the time phased data, PM Compass performs a number of validation checks:

The system first checks to see if the work package is closed. If it is, a message displays asking if you want to delete the forecast. If you click Yes, then the time phased forecast is deleted and the grid remains disabled. If you click No, then no data is changed and the grid remains disabled.

If the work package is not closed, then the system continues with the next validation checks:

If the answer to any of the above is Yes, a message displays. You will need to correct the data then click Edit again to continue the validation checks. If the answers are all No, PM Compass next checks whether the forecast class time phased records are correct by confirming the following:

If the spread is not correct, the system checks to see if the Period End Date is out of sync with the Cobra Status Date.

If you change the forecast dates and move to another work package or exit the Progress view without clicking Edit, the time phased forecast will not be within the new forecast dates. You will need to run Calculate Forecast on the project to move the time phased data within the forecast dates.
