Changing the Scheduling Tool

The scheduling tool for a project is set on the Schedule Integration tab of the Projects form. If at least one unapproved progress entry exists in the system for the PM Compass project, you cannot change the current value of the Scheduling Tool field. All of the existing unapproved progress entries must be approved or deleted before the scheduling tool can be changed. If you attempt to modify the setting while the unapproved progress entries still exist, a validation error displays.

The Primavera option is set when a Primavera project is imported into PM Compass via the Schedule Import process.

The Other option is set when schedule data (other than Primavera P6) for a specific PM Compass project is imported via the Schedule Import process.

A message displays letting you know that if you proceed, PM Compass will delete the schedule data loaded from MSP, any associated progress entries, and the progress history for the project.

A message displays letting you know that if you proceed, PM Compass will delete all schedule data related to this project, and that Primavera/Other schedule data must exist in PM Compass.

If you proceed with the change, PM Compass deletes the schedule data and the scheduling tool changes to None. You then need to use General Import to import Primavera or other schedule data which automatically sets the scheduling tool to Primavera or Other.
