Use the Validate Warning alert to warn the user when inconsistent data is being entered or to send an alert when additional information is required. This action can only be called from a User-Initiated Alerts application.
For example, if a user changes the address of a contact, you can have a warning sent which alerts the user that the telephone number may also need to be changed.
The Validate Warning alert uses the Conditions column to evaluate if the user input requires a warning and the Description column to serve as the warning message. Both of these fields are found in the Action grid.
The Description field allows you to enter a message that will be sent to the user when Validate Warning finds a match, such as "Make sure that the telephone number is correct." The Description field is required for this action.
If the Validate Warning action does not find a match (the user entered information in both the address fields and Telephone fields before saving the record) then the alert does nothing else.
If you want to stop the user from saving the record, rather than just warning them, use the Validate Error action.
