Identify Source Field in User Field Mapping

Use the User Field Mapping view to designate what source fields are available as user fields in the workflow process.

When you first access this view, the Default Project Template is used to identify fields designated as user fields. Additional codes can be identified as user fields using this view.

The Default Project Template is only applicable to Cobra cost system.

Add any of the following fields to identify them as user fields:

• All codes on the control account

• All codes on the work package

• All codes on the project

• Codes on the code file validating a control account field such as the WBS File

• Open Plan users can also use schedule project codes

The value used in any user field, identified in this application, must exist in the EPM Security Administrator.

This is a system level setting for all projects.

To Identify a Source Field as a User Field in User Field Mapping:

1. On the Navigation menu, click Administration » User Field Mapping.

2. Select a table from the Table column. See User Field Mapping Overview for a list of the available fields.

3. Select a field from the Field column.

4. Identify the User Field Label. Use the User Field Label column to define the label that will be displayed in the user field lists in PM Compass.

5. Click Save.

Tip: When you are labeling user-defined fields and mapping user fields, you should not use the same label. Label the activity user field Activity Assignee or Act CAM. Otherwise it will be difficult to interpret the assignment mapping grid. For more information, see Assignment Mapping Grid Overview
