When you save a workflow in the Modeling Session List View, PM Compass performs several validations. If any of them fail, the system displays one or both of the following dialog boxes:
Model Changes Errors Requiring Manual Resolution: This dialog box lists the issues that you need to fix in Open Plan before you can save the workflow. You can export the list to Excel if needed. The issues may include:
Linking fields that are not populated
An activity that is linked to a control account that is not in Cobra
An activity that is linked to a work package that is not in Cobra (if Create or Delete Work Packages in Workflow Type Configuration is not selected)
Multiple activities linked to the same work package (if Limit the Work Package to One Activity on the Project Schedule Integration tab is selected)
Model Changes Errors and Suggested Corrections: This dialog box displays issues and the suggested corrections that PM Compass can perform in order for the workflow to be saved. Click Yes to allow PM Compass to make the corrections and save the workflow or click No to close the message box without making any corrections or saving the workflow. You can export the list to Excel if needed. The issues may include:
User fields not defined in User Defined Data (suggested correction is to ignore the contents of the user field)
A change to a user defined field or code that is not a linking field and is not in user defined data is not saved.
Note categories not defined in User Defined Data (suggested correction is to ignore the contents of the note category)
Linking fields not populated (suggested correction is to include the activity as a schedule-only change
Activities linked to control accounts that are not listed on the workflow form (suggested correction is to add the control account to the workflow form)
A save is executed when:
You click the Save button.
You click Mark Active for a different workflow and the previously active workflow is saved.
You approve a workflow.
You submit a workflow for review.
You click Check for Schedule Changes and click Yes when PM Compass asks if you want to save.
You reject a workflow and click Yes when PM Compass asks if you want to save.
