Change Management Fields in Open Plan

PM Compass uses calculated fields to determine what changed with a change request. There are two basic types of changes:

The table below lists the fields that are in Open Plan that relate to PM Compass Change Management. You can add these fields to your Open Plan view to assist with your change request.

Field in Open Plan

Description

PMC Budget Baseline Start Date

PMC Budget Baseline Finish Date

When you apply a change in the Open Plan Add-In, the baseline dates are copied to these fields before applying the change. The dates that are copied are based on the baseline selected in PM Compass in the Projects Detail View on the Schedule Integration tab.

Use these fields to compare the difference between the baseline dates and the newly calculated early dates.

PMC Include in Baseline

Use this field to manually select activities that are to be included in the baseline.

PMC_BaselineDateComparison

This is a calculated field that is used to determine if the baseline dates will change based on the applied change.

PMC_changed_text

This field Indicates whether the activities have been changed and will be added to the change. It is useful for determining what changed in the change request.

After applying the change in the Open Plan Add-In, click in a blank cell and click Remove From Filter in the Filter menu on the Edit tab. This filters out everything except the data that was changed in the change request.

You can also see what changed by logging into PM Compass and clicking the View Summary button on the Change Details View toolbar.

PMC Date time last changed

A calculated field that indicates date and time when the activity was changed by PM Compass.

PMC_downstream

This calculated field displays True or False to indicate that the activity moved due to a change in another activity. A downstream change is typically caused by a predecessor activity being changed as part of the change request.

PMC downstream text

This calculated field displays Downstream if the PMC_downstream field is True. This Indicates that the activity has been moved due to the change to a predecessor.

PMC Pending Progress Activity

Use this field when you integrate with other scheduling tools such as Microsoft project and Primavera P6. When this field is populated, it indicates that there is progress that needs to be exported to the other scheduling tool.
