Data Mining is the process of analyzing data from different angles and summarizing it into useful information. It can be helpful in determining errors or flaws within certain areas of work or projects. It helps project managers and executives analyze how they are performing and where to improve in their area of business.
Data mining uses processes, based on parameters and rules, to pull out critical information from vast amounts of data. This data is turned into useful information which it displays in a list or graphical report.
The data mining feature has three parts:
The Data Mining Processing form is used to set the condition rules and corresponding parameters for the data mining processing.
The Cost Analysis Data Mining reports display the processed data with a set of parameters that you can control and adjust depending on how you want it presented.
The Data Mining Schedule Detail Report displays activity information for the Data Mining rule An activity with no work package. When this rule is triggered, this report is called automatically from the Data Mining Summary report to display the activity information. The report can also be run on its own to display just the activities in the schedule project that triggered the rule.
Use the Data Mining Processing Form to select the criteria for which the process will evaluate and record results.
Use the data mining processing form toolbar to save, run, or schedule a process.
The data mining processing form grid displays a list of rules and parameters that the process uses when evaluating the data.
