Create a New Client Record on the Accounting Tab

When you create a project record, you may become aware that you need to specify a client that does not yet exist in your database. If this happens, you can create a new client record via the Accounting tab.

If possible duplicate records are detected during this procedure, the Potential Duplicate Records Found dialog box displays. This dialog box lists any existing record that already has the identifier that you are trying to use for a new record.

To create a new client record on the Accounting tab:

  1. From the desktop application Navigation menu, click Hubs > Projects.
  2. On the Accounting tab, click New in the Billing Client field. DPS opens a blank firm record in a separate browser window.
  3. Enter client information and specify a unique identifier for the new record.
  4. Click Save to save the new record. DPS closes the separate browser window, creates a new client record, and adds the client's name and related information to the Accounting tab.
  5. Click Save to save your entries on the Accounting tab.

Postrequisite: After you create the new record, you must use the Firms hub to modify it.
