Using the Help Search
  • Phrase:Returns all topics that contain the exact phrase in the search criteria. Use quotation marks around the phrase.
    Ex."system administration"
  • And:Returns all topics that contain all the words in the search criteria, in any combination. Insert a plus sign between all words in the search criteria.
    Ex.system + administration
  • Or:Returns all topics with any combination of words in the search criteria. This is the default.

Passkeys Subtask

Use the Passkeys subtask to review and edit the biometric devices or security keys for a user.

Field Description
Add New Passkey

Click Add New Passkeyto name and register the security key or biometric device.

After you enter the required information, click Register to proceed with the security key registration. Costpoint displays a message asking you to insert your security key.

When the registration is complete, your security key will be required the next time you try to log in to Costpoint. A password may still be required in addition to the security key, depending on whether the Passkey (FIDO) or the Passkey 2FA Settings option is selected for you in Manage Users (SYMUSR).

Passkey Description/Name This editable field displays the name you entered for the passkey.
Passkey ID This field displays the key ID for your passkey.
Passkey Added Date/Time This field displays the date and time the passkey was registered.
Passkey Last Used Date/Time This field displays the date and time the passkey was last used.
Passkey Purpose Choose the purpose for the passkey in this field. The options are:
  • Authentication (for authentication purposes)
  • Signing (for digitally signing documents)
  • All (for both purposes)
Passkey Type This field shows the kind of credential registered:
  • Platform: The Biometric Credential is an internal device credential that is bound to the device's core platform or operating system, such as a fingerprint or face recognition on a mobile device.
  • Cross-platform: The Biometric Credential is an external roaming credential that can be used in an external manner with multiple devices, such as a USB key that inserts into a laptop USB port.
Available on multiple devices This field shows whether a biometric credential, such as your fingerprint or face recognition, can be used to log in to Costpoint on multiple devices.
Passkey Active Select this check box if you want to activate the passkey.
Passkey Attestation This field displays an attestation for the passkey, such as the manufacturer of the device and the manufacturer's digital certificate.
Passkey Certificate This field displays information about the user's company certificate that endorses the device.
