Manage Opportunities
Use this screen to create and maintain information about opportunities that your company wants to pursue.
You can use this screen when you need to initialize a new opportunity or when you need to update information related to an existing opportunity. You can set up opportunity names, descriptions, status, address and contact information, milestone dates, and post-award debrief information. You can also manage customers and vendors/partners associated with an opportunity.
You can manually add opportunities to Costpoint using this screen, or you can import opportunity data from GovWin IQ through the Import GovWin IQ Data application. For GovWin IQ opportunities, you can use the GovWin IQ subtask in Manage Opportunities to view detailed information about the opportunities imported from GovWin IQ or opportunities that are manually entered in Manage Opportunities and have a corresponding GovWin IQ opportunity ID. You can also use this subtask to run the integration routine to GovWin IQ for a specific opportunity record.
You can delete manually created opportunities as well as those that have been imported from GovWin IQ. For deleted GovWin IQ opportunities, ensure that you have unmarked the records for import into Costpoint; otherwise, they will be recreated in Costpoint with the next import.
You can associate an opportunity to one or multiple organizational conflicts of interest using the Manage Organizational Conflict of Interest (OCI) screen. You can view these linked OCIs on the Organizational Conflict of Interest (OCI) Records subtask of Manage Opportunities.
Once an opportunity becomes a contract, you can create contract information on the Manage Contracts screen and link the contract to the opportunity. Note that an opportunity can be associated with only one master contract, but multiple contract records can be linked to a single opportunity. Contract records related to the opportunity can be viewed on the Contracts subtask of Manage Opportunities.
You can also use this screen to create projects that you want to associate with an opportunity. Through the Project Initialization subtask, you can initialize projects that will include additional data available in the Capture & Contracts domain. Projects associated with the contract display on the Projects Linked subtask of this screen.
This screen has the following tabs:
- General: Use this tab to specify the opportunity number and short description, and to enter information for contracts, agencies, and business units that you want to link to the opportunity.
- Status: Use this tab to specify opportunity status details, key dates, value of the opportunity, probability of winning the opportunity, and OCI status.
- Details/Addresses: Use this tab to enter additional details and labels to be used for the opportunity, and view address and contact information for primary and acquisition agencies linked to the opportunity.
- RFP Info: Use this tab to enter and track key milestone dates for the opportunity and identify contract provisions.
- Team: Use this tab to identify the employees, vendors, and other resources who are working or could potentially work on the opportunity. You can also use this tab to define labor categories and requirements, as well as associate prime contractors and competitors with the opportunity.
- Assessments: Use this tab to rate the opportunity and assess if it is worth pursuing. When you select an assessment format, the associated rating descriptions are loaded on this tab. You can rate the opportunity on each rating description on a scale of 1 to 10, and the total score is automatically calculated for the opportunity.
- Post-Award Debrief: Use this tab to specify post-award debrief information whether you win or lose the contract.
