Set Up Hours Proration

You must perform a number of configuration steps to set up the Hour Proration feature.

To set up Hour Proration, complete the following steps:

  1. Click Time & Expense > Time > Time Controls > Manage Timesheet Classes.
  2. On the Basic Information tab, complete the following:
    1. For each timesheet class that will use hour proration, click Search and locate the timesheet class record.
    2. In the General area, select the Prorate Hours at Signature check box and click .
  3. Click Time & Expense > Configuration > General Controls > Manage UDT01 Types and complete the following steps:
    1. For each UDT01 account type that will be prorated, click   Search and locate the UDT01 account type record.
    2. Select the Prorate option and click   Save.
  4. Click Time & Expense > Configuration > Master Data > Manage UDT10S. Then, complete the following substeps:

    1. For each UDT10 pay type that will be prorated, click   Search and locate the UDT10 pay type record.
    2. In the General area, select the Prorate check box and click   Save.
  5. Click Time & Expense > Time > Time Controls > Configure Time Settings .
  6. In the Miscellaneous tab, go to the Miscellaneous group box and complete the following steps:
    1. Select a rounding option in the Hours Proration drop-down. The options are:
    • Disabled — Hour proration is disabled.
    • Enabled (Hours) — Hour proration is enabled. Prorated hours are rounded based on the Hours Increment setting for the employee timesheet class, entered on the Manage Timesheet Classes screen.
    • Enabled (2 decimals) — Hour proration is enabled. Prorated hours are always rounded to two decimals.
Select the Prorate Hours Upward check box if you want to prorate hours up when an employee works fewer than the adjusted standard number of hours.

For example, if this option is selected and an employee enters only 20 hours, all of which are proratable, for a timesheet for which the adjusted standard number of hours is 40, the proration percentage is 200. The proration process increases the hours to 40.

Do not select this option if you only want hours prorated when employees work more than their standard hours.
