Move Work Package Dialog Box

Use this dialog box to create a new work package by moving an existing one from one location to another (for example, from one project to another or from one control account to another or within the same control account) using a different work package name.

Moving a work package is similar to copying a work package, except that Cobra deletes that work package from its original location after moving it.

Move From Group Box

This group box displays the following information about the source work package that will be moved:

  • Project
  • Control Account
  • Work Package

You cannot modify these fields.

Move To Group Box

Use this group box to specify the fields of the target work package.

Field Description
Project Use this field to enter or select the project to which Cobra will copy the selected work package. This field defaults to the currently selected project.

Click to display the Project Lookup dialog box, where you can select the target project. The list displays all projects to which you have update rights.

You must specify a valid value to this field. Otherwise, Cobra will display a validation error message.

Control Account Use this field to enter or select the control account to which Cobra will copy the selected work package. Click to display the Control Account Lookup dialog box, where you can select the target control account.

You must specify a valid value in this field. Otherwise, Cobra will display a validation error message.

If the source control account baseline dates or pending dates are outside of the target control account dates, and you click the OK button, Cobra will display a message informing you about the discrepancy and asking if you would like to continue with the action.

Work Package Use this field to enter a name for the new work package. When you created the project using the New Project Wizard and assigned a code file to the work package field, click to display the Code Lookup dialog box, where you can select the code to use in moving the work package.

You must specify a valid value in this field. Otherwise, Cobra will display a validation error message.
