Deletion Outcomes Based on the Change Control Page Options
The following scenarios illustrate the outcomes of running the Schedule-Integration Wizard with different options selected on the Change Control page.
These scenarios demonstrate how Cobra handles the deletion of items, control accounts, work packages, and resource assignments based on the selected options and the default class setting.
Scenario 1
The following options are selected on the Change Control page:
- Delete items from Cobra that are no longer in the schedule
- Delete Control Accounts and Work Packages no longer in the schedule
- Delete resource assignments no longer in the schedule
- Delete only resources with the default or selected class
The default class is Budget.
The Cobra project initially includes the following data:
- WP 1.1.1 / 1200 / 01
LABOR Budget
LABOR Unapproved Budget
- WP 1.1.1 / 1200 / 02
LABOR Budget
LABOR Unapproved Budget
The schedule only includes one work package and no resource assignments.
- WP 1.1.1 / 1200 / 02
After integration, the Cobra project includes the following data:
- WP 1.1.1 / 1200 / 02
LABOR Unapproved Budget
Explanation
- WP 1.1.1 / 1200 / 01 was deleted because the Delete Control Accounts and Work Packages no longer in the schedule option was selected, and it does not exist in the schedule.
- WP 1.1.1 / 1200 / 02 was retained with only LABOR Unapproved Budget because the Delete only resources with the default or selected class option was selected, resulting in the deletion of LABOR Budget.
Scenario 2
