Client Invoice Designer FAQs
What's the best way to get started?
Do as much as you can on the Invoice Format window before clicking the Custom button and opening the Client Invoice Designer. Those settings provide you with a good starting point.
How do I discard my work and start over?
Click the X icon to close the Client Invoice Designer. If you saved your work, then on the Invoice Format window, click the Standard button.
How do I know how my change looks on the invoice?
Go between the Layout and Preview tab as you work to see the effect of your changes.
Why do I get errors when I move a field from the Report Datasets to where I want it on the Layout tab?
Report datasets contain fields from the Ajera database organized into folders that match different parts of the invoice.
For example, you can add only fields from the AxRDLInvoices_InvoiceSummary folder to the Invoice Summary area on the Layout tab.
How do I find the field I want in the Layout tab?
To find a field you want to change or move, locate it in the Preview tab first to get a general idea of where it appears. Then, click the Layout tab and scroll up or down until you find it.
How do I work in other areas of Ajera when the Client Invoice Designer is open?
After you open the Client Invoice Designer, you cannot work in Ajera until you close it. It appears in your taskbar as a Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services 2005 icon.
How do I move a field?
To move a field, simply cut and paste it.
How do I save my work?
Save your work as you make changes. After you exit the Client Invoice Designer, click the Save button on the Invoice Format window.
How do I close the Client Invoice Designer.
Click the X icon to close the Client Invoice Designer. Otherwise, it reopens with an empty window.
What do I do if the Client Invoice Designer window is empty?
If the Client Invoice Designer window is empty when you open it, click the Solution Explorer icon in the tool bar, or from the menu, select View > Solution Explorer. In the Solution Explorer window, select the Reports folder > AjeraCustomInvoiceFormat.rd.
Why does Ajera use the 2005 version of Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services?
Ajera uses the most current, stable version of specific Microsoft components needed to display and print invoices. These components restrict the version of SQL Server Reporting Services designer that can be used. As updated components are released by Microsoft, Deltek will consider incorporating these into Ajera.
