Adding a task for yourself

Employees can add tasks for only overhead projects or nonproject work. However, managers or other employees with security access can add tasks to projects.

To add tasks for yourself

  1. From the > Manage menu, click Time & Expense.
  2. Click the My Tasks tab, which contains a list of the tasks assigned to you.
  3. On the next available row, complete the fields as needed:

Description

Type the name of the task.

Project

Enter the project associated with the task or leave it blank.

Phase

Enter the phase associated with the task.

Status

Select the status that reflects your work on the task.

Priority

Select the importance of the task as either low, medium, or high.

Hours

Type the number of hours you estimate are needed to complete the task.

% Complete

Type the percent of the task that is complete.

% Complete Date

If you entered a percent complete, enter the date when you are reporting that percent of work is complete.

Est Start Date

Enter the date when work on the task is expected to begin.

Est Completion Date

Enter the date when work on the task is expected to be complete.

Start Date

Enter the date when work on the task actually begins.

Completion Date

Enter the date when work on the task is actually complete.

Notes

Type any notes about the task.

  1. To include additional information for the task, click (Customize), select the check box for the column you want to show, click OK, and complete the following information, as needed:

Enter the type of employee who performs the task, such as Architect.

Reference

Type any additional information that further identifies or describes the task.

Attachments

Any attachments related to the item

You can click the attachments icon in the table to add, change, or open attachments.

The column displays if there are no attachments, and if there are attachments. 

  1. Click Save.
  2. Click Close.
Note:

To print or inquire on the information, select an inquiry from the > Reports > Standard Inquiries > Resource menu.
