Unit Numbering

Unit numbers identify discrete goods or services that are billed at the same rate for most or all of your projects.

For example, a lab tests might always be billed at $60.00 per test, regardless of who performs the test. Each test would be considered one unit.

Units are used with the Vision Accounting application and can also be used in the Planning application.

Units and Unit Tables

Units are established for firm-wide use. To associate particular units with rates and with projects, you create unit tables to group unit records by project, project type, unit type, and so on.

Numbering Format

The length of your unit numbers can be up to 11 characters, including a user-defined delimiter, such as a period. The minimum length is three characters.

Many firms use meaningful words or phrases, such as COPIES, for their unit numbers.
