Other Important Vision Numbers

In addition to the main components that you use to create your work breakdown structure, you must establish a structure for other important numbers or codes used throughout Vision.

Number	Description
Client	Clients are the companies for which you complete your projects. Client numbers are numbers associated with clients in Vision. The use of client numbers is optional in the Planning, Accounting, and Time and Expense applications.
Opportunity	An opportunity record stores information about potential projects, including names, addresses, phone numbers, related activities and files, current opportunity status, opportunity team members, project codes, and opportunity contacts.
Employee	Employees are those people at your firm who complete the work on a project. Each employee must have an employee number. This number is used throughout Vision to track the employee's labor charges, client contact information, project participation, expense charges, payroll information, billing rates, and more.
Unit	Units are goods or services that are billed at the same rate for most or all of your projects. Units are used in the Accounting application to bill expenses to projects, cost expenses to projects, or both bill and cost expenses to projects. Units can also be used in the Planning application. Units are established firm-wide.
Unit Table	Unit tables are groupings of units that apply to specific projects. Unit tables are established on a project-by-project basis. Unit tables are used by the Accounting application and can also be used in the Planning application.
Vendor	Vendors are the people or businesses from whom your company acquires the materials and services needed to complete projects. If you use vendors with Client Relationship Management (CRM) and Proposals, the term "vendor" may be used to represent someone who does work for you, such as a contractor or consultant.
Plan	A project or opportunity plan is the backbone of the Planning application. You do not establish firm-wide guidelines for plan numbers. You establish a plan number individually for each plan that you create.
