TrafficLIVE Web Service Utility

If you own Vision and TrafficLIVE, use the TrafficLIVE Web Service utility in Vision to link new projects/jobs, employees, and timesheets between Vision and TrafficLIVE.

You use the utility, located in Utilities > Advanced Utilities > TrafficLIVE Web Service, to:

  • Enable the TrafficLIVE web service to allow the integration between Vision and TrafficLIVE.
  • Specify the connection settings for the TrafficLIVE web service so that Vision has access to the TrafficLIVE database.
  • Define the mapping of project/job structure, organization levels, and billable and non-billable labor codes between Vision and TrafficLIVE.
  • Select the type of new records (projects/jobs, employees, timesheets, and/or organizations) that Vision will send to and receive from TrafficLIVE when the TrafficLIVE web service is run. After records are sent and received, they are considered to be "linked" between Vision and TrafficLIVE.
  • Specify the fields to update in TrafficLIVE when changes have been made in Vision to employees and projects/jobs that are linked with TrafficLIVE.
  • Run or schedule the TrafficLIVE web service to send and receive new records between Vision and TrafficLIVE and synchronize fields that have been changed for existing employee and project/job linked records.

Configuration

In addition to the configuration settings that you enter on the Configuration tab and Mapping tab in the TrafficLIVE Web Service utility, you must complete other configuration in Vision and TrafficLIVE before you can link records between Vision and TrafficLIVE. See the Deltek Vision TrafficLIVE Integration Technical Guide for complete configuration instructions. This guide also provides information about the data mapping between Vision objects and TrafficLIVE objects and troubleshooting steps for integration issues.
