Timesheet Status

Each timesheet that you enter in the Timesheet application has a status value that reflects the current processing stage of the timesheet. Timesheet status values display on the Timesheet Period Selection dialog box, the Select Employee Timesheet dialog box, and on individual Timesheet forms.

Your system administrator can change the status of a timesheet at any time prior to posting the timesheet.

Status Description

Missing

If the timesheet status is Missing:

  • No timesheet exists for this period.

  • You can select the labor period and create a new timesheet for the period. When you do, the status value automatically changes to In Progress.

Note that Missing displays as <Blank> on the Timesheet Period Selection dialog box.

In Progress

If the timesheet status is In Progress:

  • The timesheet is in the process of being completed.

  • You can enter timesheet data, edit timesheet data, and print the timesheet.

  • The timesheet has not yet been submitted for processing.

Submitted

If the timesheet status is Submitted:

  • The timesheet has been submitted for processing.

  • You can open and print the timesheet, but you cannot enter or edit timesheet data unless your Timesheet Administrator has given users security access to resubmit timesheets.

  • The timesheet has not yet been approved.

Approved

If the timesheet status is Approved:

  • The timesheet has been approved.

  • You can open and print the timesheet, but you cannot enter or edit timesheet data unless your Timesheet Administrator allows you to resubmit timesheets.

  • The timesheet is ready to be posted.

The Approved status option is available only if your system administrator selects Require timesheets to be approved before posting on the Setup tab of Company Timesheet Configuration.

Posted

If the timesheet status is Posted:

  • The timesheet has been posted.

  • You can open and print the timesheet, but you cannot enter or edit timesheet data, submit, or approve the timesheet.
