Start/End Timesheet Report

The Start/End Timesheet report provides an overview of the starting and ending times for timesheet entries for a single employee for each workday in the labor period and is available only to employees who are required to enter start and end times for hours worked.

The selected labor period ending date displays as part of the report title.

You can preview and/or print this report only from the Timesheet form and the Select Employee Timesheet dialog box. When you print the Summarized Timesheet Report or the Detailed Timesheet Report, Vision gives you the option to print the Start/End Timesheet report.

Header

Column Description

Employee

The employee's identification number and name (Last Name, First Name) displays here.

Signed/Approved

If you have selected Require electronic signature when submitting timesheets on the Setup tab of Company Timesheet Configuration, the name of the employee who submitted the timesheet displays under the Signed line and the name of the employee who approved the timesheet displays under the Approved line.

If you are not using the electronic signature feature, these lines are blank.

In either case, you can use the lines for handwritten signatures if you wish.

The current status of the timesheet also displays in this section, as follows:

  • Draft Copy — The timesheet is In Progress.

  • Submitted — The timesheet has been submitted for processing, but has not yet been approved.

  • Approved — The timesheet has been approved by the appropriate administrator and is now ready to be posted.

  • Posted — The timesheet has been posted to your Vision database.

Organization

If you are using the Organization Reporting feature, the code for the employee's assigned organization displays here.
Report Columns

Project Number

The first column on the report displays the number of the project to which the employee is charging time. The second column shows the name of the project.

Items in these two columns display on the report in the following order:

  • Special categories always display first. The order in which they display is determined by the sequence numbers you assign them in Timesheet Special Categories Configuration. A special category displays on the report only if hours and/or comments have been entered for the category. For each special category, the category name shows in both columns.

  • Projects (phases, and tasks) display in descending order. Phase and task numbers (if applicable) are shown below the project number and name.

Phase

If you are using phases, the phase number to which the employee charged time displays in this column.

Task

If you are using tasks, the task number to which the employee charged time displays in this column.

Labor

The labor code to which the employee charged time displays in this column.

Labor Category

The labor category to which the employee charged time displays in this column.

Labor category information displays on the report only if you are using Vision Accounting, Vision Billing, or Vision Resource Planning.

Project Tax Locale

The project's payroll tax locale (for example, CA, MA, or NY) displays below the labor category information.

Payroll tax locale information displays only if you select Allow Project's tax locale to be overidden on Timesheet in Payroll Configuration and the employee's Locale Method is set to Follow Project Locale on the Payroll tab of Employee Info Center.

Start Time

The start time assigned by the employee to the project, phase, and/or task displays in this column.

End Time

The end time assigned by the employee to the project, phase, and/or task displays in this column.

Hours Worked

The employee's total work hours for a the day/date in the labor period display here.
Totals Section

Number of Breaks Taken

The total number of breaks assigned by the employee to the project, phase, and/or task on a specific day/date of the labor period display here.

Daily Total

The total of regular, overtime, secondary overtime, and meal hours charged to all projects, phases, and/or tasks on a specific day/date of the labor period display here.

Timesheet Total

The total of regular, overtime, secondary overtime, and meal hours for entire the labor period display here.
