Approve a Timesheet

You can approve a timesheet only if the labor period is still open, you have Group, Company, or System access to the Timesheet application, and you have approval rights to the selected timesheet.

Your system administrator can configure Vision to notify you when timesheets are due for submission or approval.

To approve the timesheet of an employee in another company, follow the procedure for opening the timesheet for an employee in another company.

To approve a timesheet, complete the following steps:

  1. Open the timesheet that you want to approve.
  2. Review and edit the timesheet and then click Approve.
  3. To select another timesheet to approve, click Employees. Vision displays the Select Employee Timesheet dialog box. By default, the dialog box displays a list of all employee timesheets (for the selected labor period) to which you have access, as well as the status of those timesheets.
  4. Optional. To display different timesheets, complete one of the following actions:
    • Use the Labor Period Ending drop-down list to display timesheets for a different labor period.

    • Use the Group drop-down list to display timesheets for a specific employee group.

    • Clear the option in the Status Totals section for any timesheet status that you do not want to display.

  5. In the grid on the Select Employee Timesheet dialog box, click the row that contains the employee timesheet that you want to approve.
  6. Click Select to open the selected timesheet or click Select All to open all of the timesheets.
  7. Review and edit each timesheet.

    If you open multiple timesheets, use the navigation buttons below the toolbar to scroll through the timesheets. You can review, edit, and approve each timesheet individually.

  8. Click Approve to approve the timesheet currently displayed in your browser window.

    If you have multiple timesheets open, Vision approves the current timesheet and automatically moves to the next open timesheet.
