Custom Frequency Dialog Box

Use the Custom Frequency dialog box to specify the custom interval for the recurring journal entries. When the Frequency is set to Custom, you can select the Custom button to open this dialog box.

Location

To display the dialog box, complete the following steps:

  1. From the Vision Navigation menu, select Transaction Center > Transaction Entry.
  2. On the Transaction Entry form, click the Transactions tab.
  3. From the drop-down list in the Transaction Type field, select Journal Entry.
  4. Create a new transaction file or open an existing transaction file.
  5. On the New File dialog box, select Custom from the Frequency drop-down list.
  6. Click Custom Dates.

Field Description
Insert Click this option to specify custom dates for the journal entry's occurrence on the Custom Frequency grid.
Delete Click this option to delete an occurrence from the Custom Frequency grid.
Drop-down

Click the drop-down arrow on a grid header to complete any of the following actions:

  • To print grid data, click Print. On the Print Preview form, click File > Print to send the grid data to your default printer.
  • To export grid data to an Excel spreadsheet, click Export to Excel. When Microsoft Excel opens, use its features to modify, print, or email the grid data, or to save the spreadsheet file locally.
  • To turn on grouping for a grid, click Enable Grouping. When a field displays with the instruction: "Drag a column header here to group by that column," drag and drop column headers into the field, in the sequence that you want them to display.

Not all options are available on all grids.

Occurrence Enter a numeric value for the occurrence. This value is for tracking purposes only and does not dictate the order in which the occurrences happen.
Date Enter a date or use the Calendar to select the date on which the occurrence will happen.
OK Click this option to save your entries.
