Conduct a Resource Utilization Search

You can conduct a resource utilization search in Resource Management, to check the utilization ratios of employees that you may want to assign to a project.

To conduct a resource utilization search, complete the following steps:

  1. From the Vision Navigation menu, click Planning > Resource Management > Resource Utilization.
  2. Use the fields on the Show tab to specify how Vision displays data on the Resource Utilization results grid.
  3. Use the Show Assignments For options to select the range of dates in which you are searching for planned hours.

If no date is defined, Vision defaults the start date to today's date, and the end date to the end date of the fourth consecutive period.

  4. Use the View By drop-down list to select how dates and values are reported for the Planned Start, Planned End, and Period columns.

If your View By dates differ from the plan's values for the selected date range, Vision automatically calculates the values that display.

  5. Optional. Use the fields on the Search tab to enter criteria to refine the results of your search.
  6. Click the Search button to execute your search.

Vision displays the results in the Results grid.

  7. Use the key on the Legend tab to interpret colors and footnotes that display on the grid.
