Procedures for Budgeting Plans

You assign and budget consultants, expenses, resources, and units in Project Planning.

  • Open a Plan
    You can open any plan for which you have the appropriate security rights.
  • Assign and Budget Consultants
    Use the Consultants tab to assign consultants to the plan. Typically, consultants are assigned at the lowest level of the plan's work breakdown structure. If you want actual consultant expense amounts passed to the plan from Accounting, you must map the consultants in your plan to consultant expense accounts in the Info Center.

    Use the Expenses tab to assign expenses at the lowest level of the plan's work breakdown structure.
  • Assign and Budget Resources
    You can assign either named or generic resources at any level of a plan's WBS. In Project Planning, you use the Labor tab to assign resources.

    Use the Units tab to assign units at the lowest level of the plan's work breakdown structure.
