Plan Road Map

Each organization has their own process for tracking an opportunity from its earliest stages until it becomes a completed project.

For example, prospective project is advertised by company or government agency. Your firm creates a marketing opportunity and a Project Manager creates an opportunity plan and/or a fee proposal. After your firm wins the project, you create a project in Vision and create a detailed project plan to establish the baseline budget and to manage the project. You can create a project plan template from historical data, to aid in developing future opportunity plans.

The actual steps for developing a project plan within this process are consistent:

  1. Create a plan record.

  2. Create the WBS for the plan.

  3. Schedule the plan.

  4. Budget the plan — assign resources, expenses, and/or consultants.

  5. Click Save.

  6. Map the plan to Info Center records.

  7. Save the baseline version of the plan when the client signs the contract.
