The Generic Resource tab displays as a function of the Labor grid's Resource Search. Use the Generic Resource tab to search for an established generic category of employee to assign to the current WBS element.
For example, you might select principal, architect, engineer, and/or geologist. Your selections are listed under the current WBS element. After the plan is awarded and work begins, you can change the generic resources to actual employees who are responsible for the tasks.

Select one or more categories for the generic resource. Your selections are listed under the current WBS element in the Labor grid.
This field displays all active generic resources available for that category. Inactive generic resources do not display.
You can select one or more generic resources from those listed:

Click a single category.

Use SHIFT + click to select multiple, consecutive categories.

Use CTRL + click to select multiple, non-consecutive categories.

When you click
Select, Vision assigns the generic resource(s) to the WBS element you selected on the Labor Planning grid.
