Assign an Employee with JTD to a Plan

You can assign an employee that has job-to-date (JTD) charges on a project to the associated plan's Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).

To assign an employee with JTD charges on a plan to the WBS, complete the following steps:

  1. From the Vision Navigation menu, click Planning > Project Planning.
  2. Open a plan record.
  3. Click the Labor tab. The impacted project level WBS displays in red text to indicate that:
    • There are unassigned employees.
    • The JTD at the WBS level does not match the sum of the JTD for the rows beneath it.
  4. Select the project WBS level (displayed in red) and right-click on the small arrow to the left of the row to access the grid options pop-up menu.
  5. Select Missing JTD Employees. The Employees with JTD Who are Missing From the Plan dialog box displays, listing the employees that have job-to-date (JTD) charges on the project but are not assigned to the associated plan's Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).

This dialog box displays timesheet charges that are posted; however, if the Show Unposted Actual Labor option is selected on the General tab of Project Planning, the charges from unposted timesheets are also included. Only the missing JTD charges dated through the current JTD/ETC date are included.

  6. Select the employee that you want to insert into specific levels of the plan's WBS. Using the Plan WBS Level to Add Assignment Row Under drop-down, select from all mapped WBS plan levels that correspond to the timesheet charge and that are included in JTD Matching.
  7. Click the Add Assignment Rows button. Vision adds the employee under the WBS level that was selected in the drop-down. Note that the employee will be added as the last resource beneath the WBS level. If you do not select a WBS level from the drop-down, Vision defaults to inserting the resource at the lowest level that is entered in the drop-down.
  8. You can select Do Not Add in the drop-down if you do not want to add an assignment row for a JTD charge while adding assignment rows for others. For example, the JTD charge may be assigned to the wrong project so an assignment row should not be added to the plan.
  9. Click Save. You must reselect the plan to see the JTD on the new assignment rows.
