Filter a Visualization Map by Grouping Category

The records included initially in a visualization are based on the selections you make on the lookup that you open from the Selection column in the Reports grid. After you generate a visualization map, you can filter the records in the Visualization window, to focus on a subset of records. One option is to filter by grouping category.

To filter the records included in a visualization map based on grouping category values, complete the following steps:

  1. Click in the label of the field for the grouping category that you want to use to filter records for the visualization map. The icon is not visible until you position the mouse pointer on the category label.

For example, if you are grouping by Project Manager Name and you want the map to only include projects for a particular project manager, click in the Project Manager Name field to the right of the Grouping field.

  2. In the list of elements for the grouping category, select the check boxes for the filter values that you want and clear all of the others. Use the Select All or Select None options if you want to select or clear all of the check boxes.
  3. Click OK at the bottom of the list. Vision regenerates the map based on the records you selected.
  4. If the visualization map is grouped by more than one grouping category, repeat this procedure for other categories if you also want to filter the map based on them.
